No Matter Where, No Matter When

Life insurers are experts in planning and preparing for the future. We provide long-term guarantees to 90 million American families, never knowing when we will have to deliver on our promises to policyholders.

But deliver we do.

In 2024, life insurers delivered on 99.8% of life insurance claims, with the rare exceptions due to fraud concerns, missing documentation and other miscellaneous issues.

Our promises mean a widow and her young kids can stay in their home. The employees of a small business can keep their jobs. And a first-generation college student can fulfill their dream of earning a degree.

Life insurers are always standing at the ready, ensuring their customers can care for themselves and their loved ones in good times and bad.

Keeping promises is what we do. And we’ve been doing it for centuries.

Many of America’s leading life insurers have been protecting Americans since the 19th century, through the Civil War, World Wars I and II, the Great Depression, the 9-11 attacks, and the COVID-19 pandemic. We were here for the nation’s Centennial and Bicentennial celebrations, and we’re looking forward to America’s 250th anniversary next year.

We’re also looking way beyond that. Many of the promises we’re making to our customers today will be kept until the Tricentennial in 2076 — or even the 22nd century.

No matter where. No matter when. Americans can always count on life insurers to keep their promises and provide financial protection.
