One Month to the ACLI Capital Challenge

The countdown to the ACLI Capital Challenge has begun.
One month from today on May 14, leaders from the three branches of the federal government and the Washington press corps will compete in the annual road race that benefits Junior Achievement USA.
Last year’s ACLI Capital Challenge raised a record $200,000 for Junior Achievement, supporting its financial education programs that serve millions of students across the nation. And thanks to our many sponsors and the hundreds of participants we’re expecting next month, we’re aiming to raise a new record for Junior Achievement this year.
Life insurers strongly support financial education initiatives because people with financial literacy are much better positioned to achieve lasting financial security. Research shows that people with a very high level of financial literacy are more than four times as likely to have emergency savings sufficient to cover one month of living expenses than those with a very low level of financial literacy.
We’re looking forward to seeing many familiar faces join us at Washington D.C.’s Anacostia Park again next month, including our celebrity runner, Keira D’Amato, and ACLI Capital Challenge Hall of Fame runners who have competed 10 or more times.
We’re also eager to meet the first-timers, including new members of Congress who will be vying for the coveted Fastest Man and Woman in Congress trophies. There’s plenty of time to sign up for the race as the entry deadline is April 25.
All of the ACLI Capital Challenge competitors will be running — or walking — three miles for the 4.6 million kids served by Junior Achievement programs.
So, get ready Washington D.C. It’s going to be a great race for a great cause.
